More about Jim

Under his guidance, the gym has produced an impressive roster of champions, including 63 National Muay Thai Champions, 2 USA National Team Champions, and 3 World Title holders. His team also clinched the TBA National Fight Team Championship in both 2021 and 2022.

Jim's journey in Muay Thai began in 1994 under the tutelage of Wayne Gregory and Pat White. Notably, Wayne Gregory, who trained at Fairtex Thailand under Apidiji and Jonsanang, was the first foreigner to defeat a Thai opponent at Lumpinee Stadium. Jim's training ventures took him to Thailand in 2000, where he fought at Rompo Gym in Bangkok's inaugural in-house smoker. Since then, he has made over 12 trips to Thailand, training at esteemed gyms such as Tiger Muay Thai, Dragon Muay Thai, Sinbi Muay Thai, Kru Dam in Phuket, Lookswan Bangkok, and Hongthong Gym in Chiang Mai.

In addition to his Muay Thai accolades, Jim boasts a diverse martial arts background. He was a competitive Bare Knuckle Fighter for 18 years, achieving the 2001 Shidokan Middleweight Team Championship and placing 2nd in the 1998 International Shidokan Cup. Jim holds a Black Belt in Shidokan and a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with 11 years of experience. He also wrestled competitively for 5 years from ages 13 to 18 and has completed two marathons and over 20 triathlons, including a half Ironman, embodying the gym motto "Hard Work Starts Here."

Jim's coaching prowess extends beyond Muay Thai, having mentored professional Glory Kickboxer Ryot Waller and UFC Fighter Razak Al-Hassan.
