Muay Thai is known as, “the art of eight limbs.” This refers to the eight points of contact used including the fists, elbows, knees, and shins. The difference between Muay Thai and "Kickboxing" is Muay Thai uses Elbow and Knee strikes as well as "the Clinch" where Kickboxing only uses kicks and punches with limited knees.
Muay Thai is a combat sport and also ideal for self defense as it utilizes the entire body. Muay Thai has proven to be one of the most effective striking styles in the world.
